Designing a home is a multi-step process.  Woodridge Homes LLC walks you through each step of the way.  Once your house is under way, we use only quality sub-contractors and quality products that we know and trust to do our work.

Steps to Building Your Dream Home

1.  Preliminary Design Consultation- At your convenience, we will set up a meeting to discuss architectural design elements, features, size, price range.  Bring your ideas  because this is the beginning of your dream home.  At this point, you will sign a design contract which is only for the design of your blue prints.

2.  Troy then takes all of your thoughts and ideas and sketches a preliminary plan including floor plan and front elevation.   We will reconvene to show you, the buyer, what it is beginning to look like.  At this point, we will give you a very general ball park of what we think your house will cost to build.  Obviously the choice of products you put in your house can vary greatly so keep in mind your final quote could be quite different but at least it gives you a start. This is your chance to add, move, eliminate or enhance your plans.

3.  Troy goes back to the drawing board and starts drawing your final plans to scale.  Additional elevations are drawn to show front, back and side elevations.

4.  Once you have signed off on the blueprints, we discuss actual products that you want to use in your house.  Things like- what style brick/stone?  What brand of cabinets, what style of cabinets?  What type of flooring?  While we don't have to have everything picked out exactly, the more idea we have of products you will be selecting the more closely we can determine the price of your home.  You may find it helpful to work with Longhenry Lloyd Interiors at this point.

5.  Once we have all this information, we send out your plans to our subcontractors and suppliers to determine the cost of building your new home.

5.  Once the price has been established, you will know what your allowance for certain things are such as how much did we price in for cabinets.  If you decide that you want to upgrade additional items, we can certainly do that as we go along with additional change orders.   Keep in mind though, that this will change the final cost of your house.

6.  If everything is acceptable to you at this point, you will sign a building contract and we will begin excavation and construction of your new home.  While somethings such as weather, can be out of our control and will postpone construction, we target for 6 months to complete construction.

7.  Sometimes people ask if they can have people they know do some of the sub contracting work.  Woodridge Homes takes pride in the homes we build and we can do this by using sub contractors that we know and have worked with in the past.  This helps keep things going smoothly and with the quality you can trust from Woodridge Homes.  You may make suggestions if you know someone, but ultimately, Woodridge Homes will need to approve any sub-contractors that we hire.
